Instructions
Prompting
- Prompting opens on May 1 2026, at midnight KST.
- Prompting will be done through a notion form!
- Prompts can be submitted as writer only, artist only, or both.
- Please fill out the form as accurately and fully as possible. We have made the Do Not Wants section of the form mandatory as a precaution - if you do not have anything to put in a mandatory section, you may write N/A.
- Contact information entered in the prompting form will be viewed by mods only. Prompts themselves will be anonymous. Mods will use contact information to reach out for clarification if necessary.
- You may submit as many prompts as you like!
- The mod team has final say over whether a prompt or fill is appropriate for the fest. If a prompt or fill breaks our rules, we retain the right to remove or refuse it.
Claiming
- Claiming opens on May 15 2026, at midnight KST.
- Claiming will be done through a notion form!
- Prompts will be open to view for 48h prior to claiming.
- Claim form will require a creator to choose whether they are claiming a prompt for writing or art. It will also ask whether they are open to working with a creator doing the other (if the prompt claimed is open to both). If a prompt is claimed by someone not open to working with another creator, the prompt will be moved to the claimed section; if not, it will remain on the other prompt list for claiming.
- Multi-claim will open on May 29 2026, at midnight KST.
Creation
- Official creation period opens on May 29 2026, at midnight KST.
- Written works must be a minimum of 1000 words.
- We understand that it is difficult to provide an equivalent minimum for visual art, especially when artist prompts may be submitted with single images in mind or artists may work with writers to create fic illustration. However, the art must a complete work in the chosen style that fully addresses the prompt. If an artist claims a story-based prompt, they are committing to a series of images to fulfill the story.
- There will be one mandatory check-in halfway through the creation period, due by July 13 2026 at 23:59 KST. This will be done through a notion form. While there are no requirements as to word count, sketches, or general progress, we do expect creators to know their own process well enough to know how they're doing at this point.
- Work submission will be due on August 27 2026 at 23:59 KST Writers will post their fic to the AO3 collection and submit a notion form. Artists will submit a separate google form with their work file attached.
- Please do not discuss your work publicly. We’d like to keep some of the fun and mystery for reveals!
Reveals
- Work reveals are scheduled for the week of September 3 through 8 2026. We reserve the right to change this period depending on the number of submissions.
- Fics will be posted at midnight KST on the Bluesky account and mirrored to Twitter with a small graphic. Art will be posted by the artist on their own account and boosted by the official account, or reposted with credit and links if the artist is not on a specified platform.
- Fic author reveals are scheduled for September 15 2026. This date may change based on the dates of the work reveal period.
Betas
- Interested people may sign up offering fic beta services using a notion form starting on May 15 2026. Please fill out the form as completely as possible; the more information you give a writer, the better they know whether you would be a good fit for their fic/style!
- Writers may request to work with a beta using a notion form starting on May 29 2026.
FAQs
How do I request an extension or drop a prompt?
- Send the official account an email at [email protected], and take a deep breath. We know if you’re dropping or need an extension, it's probably because you're having a hard enough time already; this is supposed to be fun!
Can I claim more than one prompt?
- Yes! We do require that you finish your first prompt before claiming a second (and the second before the third, or onwards if you're really determined), but once a fic or work is submitted we will accept another claim form from you at any point.
Can I talk with my friends about what I'm creating?
- While public discussion is off the table, you're free to chat in DMs or private spaces (not like we'll know)! We do just ask that discussion be kept at a reasonable minimum to save some of the fun since reveals are anonymous.
Can I self-prompt?
- Absolutely! There will be a separate form opened at claim time for self-prompts.
Can I submit a fic in a language other than English?
- You’re also welcome to submit in French, German, Portuguese or Spanish, which are all languages that the mod team is confident in!! We’re asking that you do not submit in a language that the team does not cover, just for moderation purposes. If we could accept everything, we would!
Can I upload the first chapter of a story?
- We're looking for complete works for this fest, so no first chapters, wips, or sketch-to-color-laters will be accepted in the submission form. Of course, you're free to write a complete work that you then add to as a series later, and in fact, we hope something inspires you that much! Just not as part of the fest.
How do the collaborations work?
- An artist and a writer can sign up together by requesting the same prompt at the same time, or two creators can team up later! Either way, the mods will put you in contact with your partner and you'll create related works - the artist could illustrate the writer's fic, or the writer could whip up an accompanying drabble. As long as the pieces are created together, it's up to you.
Can I swap prompts? I don't like where this is going.
- Sure thing! Same as for dropping a prompt, send the official account an email at [email protected] - please do just note in the subject that you are intending to switch prompts and not drop. Then fill out the claim form for any available prompt you’d like to switch to!
Can I use the work I'm writing for this fest for other challenges too?
- Sure, but remember that fic reveals for this are initially anonymous, so you won't be able to submit something as your work to another fest or challenge until after our author reveals on September 15th.
What is the deadline in my timezone?
- Here’s a handy site to help you with timezone conversion!
Wait, what's a beta?
- Well, if omegas and alphas- wait sorry. A beta reader is someone who helps a writer with their fic through reading and giving feedback! Usually this is through proofreading for spelling and grammar, but a beta can also pick up on plot holes, chat about characterization, and brainstorm with their writer.
Are there requirements for signing up to beta read?
- While there aren't any official requirements, we do recommend you have a good grasp on basic grammar in the language(s) you’re betaing in and that you're willing to work alongside, not against, any writer who asks for your assistance. It's about making a fic the best it can be, and that's a very subjective thing!
My question isn't here. Where can I ask it?
